Originally the brainchild of Sandra Young from Sleights, who adorned the village with knitted decorations at Christmas, the Easter Bunting Project has quickly captured people’s imaginations.
Bunting has been stitched, knitted, quilted, crocheted and even coloured in and laminated by residents across the North York Moors.
It’s not just those who attend Revival North Yorkshire’s popular monthly lunches who have been hard at work, other people in the community have joined in too.
Terry Alderson, from Castleton, said: “It’s a wonderful idea to get the village together and the village looks wonderful. The last time I knitted was at school for the war effort.”
Revival North Yorkshire director, Debbie Swales said: “It’s fabulous, Sandra has been working on it and revival employees Tina and Amy have been encouraging people to join in as well.
"Amy has made special sections to go into the bunting explaining what it’s all about which has helped get people on board.
“It has really given people something nice to focus on for a change and has helped to ‘knit the community together’ even more!”
